Virtual Reality

Virtual reality has gained great interest in today’s world. It has widen our perspective of life, and today, it is used in many areas of the social life; education, science etc.. I think, everyone should experience this extraordinary VR experience. It feels like you are living inside the game, it is unbeliveable experience. When I played the game ‘’Roller Coaster’’ in class, I felt that all the things as if they’re real, and they’re besides me. However, I got dizzy, because I couldn’t see the my nose. As nose is associated with balance, when I didn’t see it, normally I felt a little bit dizzy. However, overall experience of it was priceless. I hope you will experience this as soon as possible.
Besides this, VR can be used in classroom with students, too. It facilitiates the learning process of students, and make it interesting, meaningful for students.

Second Life, and VLE

Hi! Today, I want to talk about Second Life. Second Life is one of the 3D virtual worlds, in it, people can create their avatar, environment and they can connect with others. Istanbul University Virtual Campus is also a VLE -virtual learning environment. 

My experience was very good. After I created my avatar, I entered the IU VLE. It is similar to our real IU campus except for ‘a few’ details. When I wandered, I felt like I were wandering in our campus. In addition to this, in it, it has learning centers, conference hall which enables for students to attend classes with their avatar by video conferencing and distant education. It also has learning games for students for practising maths, and also a language game for teaching Italian language.
